Latest news

Updated 1st November 2020

We are at ALERT LEVEL ONE.

If You are Unwell

If you have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms, stay home and call us.

With any respiratory symptoms we need to keep you, our staff and our other patients safe. Our nurses or one of our doctors will initially consult via phone and make a plan for your assessment.

We can safely perform COVID-19 swabs at the practice and can also refer to Pathlab for these if clinical assessment is not required.

These are the symptoms we need to know about:

  • New or worsening cough
  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose
  • Temporary loss of smell or taste
Face to Face Appointments

Appointments are readily available, bookings can be made by phoning 575 4001 or online via ConnectMed. You will be asked whether you have any respiratory symptoms - when you make your booking and when you arrive for your appointment. Bear with us, we need to keep everybody safe.

Phone Consultations

If you would prefer, our doctors are available for phone consultations. We will continue to offer this service at the same cost (or slightly discounted cost) as in-person consultations. This enables us to meet your needs and can be an efficient way of dealing with requests for prescriptions, referrals etc. If the doctor feels you need to come in for a face to face consultation this will be arranged.

Our Waiting Room

We have removed all books, toys and magazines from the waiting room, this is now a clutter-free zone. Please respect social distancing where possible. We don't want too many people waiting, if your doctor is delayed (sorry), consider waiting in your car. Try not to bring other family members into the building unless you need to. Thank you again for your consideration for others.

Staff

Dr. Andrew Coster MBChB FRNZCGP

I was born in Dunedin but grew up in the Mount and went to Mount College. I trained at Otago University where I met my wife... Dr Wendy Huang.

I have been a GP since 2005. I have been at Farm St since 2016. I like all aspects of General Practice but particularly have an interest in Medicine, Cardiology and Aged Care.

Outside of work I enjoy reading, cricket and driving my two sons to all their sports.

Dr. Claire McNally MBChB DCH FRNZCGP

I graduated from Glasgow University in 1996, moved to New Zealand in 2007, and have enjoyed being a partner at Farm St since 2010.

As well as providing general medical care and minor skin surgery I have a special interest in child, adolescent and women’s health including Jadelle and Mirena insertion.

I enjoy reading, running and family time.

Dr. Kerry Willoughby MBChB Dip Obst FRNZCGP

Graduated Otago Medical School 1982 and founding partner at Farm St.

Kevin and I arrived in the Mount with a six-month old babe in arms and haven’t moved. The Mount has been a wonderful place to live and work and raise our four children. It is a privilege to see the children of our early patients now bringing their own offspring to the practice, this continuity over the years is one of the fantastically rewarding parts of general practice.

Outside work these days I can be found climbing the Mount or Pap Hills, enjoying classical music and singing with Vocal Chords (a health providers based choir – no audition needed fortunately).

Dr. Kevin Giles MBChB FRNZCGP

Originally from Katikati, I graduated from Otago Medical School in 1983. After a couple of years based in the UK, Kerry and I returned to NZ and I completed my GP training in Palmerston North. Our families (the grandparents) were the pull to bring us back to the Bay in 1989 and we were welcomed into the Mount.

I am grateful to have been able to provide continuity of care for over thirty years to this community. We have family centred medicine at the core of our partnership at Farm St and I am fortunate to have fellow colleagues who share this ideal. We provide a full range of General Medical care. I have particularly enjoyed the care of older patients, skin surgery and seeing children – generally a tonic for any day.

I enjoy getting out on my bike when I can. I completed the Tour Aotearoa during summer 2020, a bike trekking adventure from Cape Reinga to Bluff.

Dr. Wendy Huang MBChB Dip O&G FRNZCGP

I graduated from Otago Medical School in 2000 and moved to Tauranga in 2004. I joined Farm Street Family Health in 2009 and especially enjoy preventative care, chronic medical conditions, children’s health, skin concerns and women’s health. I also provide Jadelle insertion/removal and minor surgeries. Consultations can be done in English or Mandarin.

I am married to Andrew and enjoy cooking and cake decorating. Much of my free time is also taken up pursuing classical, musical theatre and choral singing. I belong to two choirs and do solo concerts from time to time.

Dr. Whitney Davis MBBS(Hons) PGDip OMG MRNZCGP

I was born and raised in Tasmania, then moved to Melbourne to complete my medical degree at Monash University, graduating in 2010. I came to New Zealand to start my first medical job soon after graduation, and haven’t wanted to leave since.

I enjoy all parts of general practice, but have a special interest in breastfeeding medicine, and maternal/infant mental health. When I’m not at work I am caring for my own tamariki, volunteering for La Leche League supporting local mothers, and fitting in triathlon training where I can.

Dr. Coral Dixon MBChB Dip Paeds FRNZCGP

I studied medicine at Auckland University, completing my medical degree in 1998. I worked in hospitals in NZ and overseas for 10 years, before coming back to Mount Maunganui. I've been working as a family doctor (GP) in the local area for over a decade.

I have a strong interest in promoting nutrition and healthy lifestyle as the best preventative medicine. I also emphasise the importance of healthy relationships in our home and community, and how much we all rely on a healthy planet.

I enjoy seeing patients off all ages/genders, and I do my best to provide clear explanations and to ensure clients feel heard and empowered in their health journey.

I live with my husband and two lovely girls, and enjoy keeping fit, time in nature, arty stuff, and a bit of ukulele.
